Smart speakers, including the Amazon Alexa could now alert the ambulance service if someone were to experience a cardiac arrest. This could save 500,000 deaths in the US each and every year. If you work in technical jobs or even in engineering jobs then you will understand what a huge movement this is. Researchers have worked hard to try and develop an algorithm and they have also tried to create a smart speaker of their own. This would detect agonal breathing and it would also be created in such a way that it could call for help too.

People who are experiencing cardiac arrest usually stop breathing or they try their best to gasp for air. This is known as being agonal breathing. Immediate CPR will usually drastically increase someone's survival but research has suggested in the past that the most common locations for cardiac arrest is in the bedroom. This is when nobody else is around to respond, or give help.

Researchers have worked hard to try and develop an algorithm which will help to monitor people while they are asleep for cardiac arrest. Sure, smart speakers and smart phones are going to be used but there is no telling what other advancements are going to be used in the future. They are using data from real agonal cases and they are also doing everything they can to really get it out there and to the public. The best thing is that so many people have devices like this in their home already and the calling capabilities really are fantastic. If more could be done to give people the support they need in terms of medical care then there is no telling how far this could go and there is also no telling how many lives could be saved.

The EPSRC funded network are going to try and identify and even address some of the challenges that appear to be holding back the electrified transport grid. The project is headed by Dr. Liana Cipcigan and she is the co-director of the famous Electric Vehicle Centre. This can be found in Cardiff, and they are going to be investigating the needs and developments that are happening in the near future. They are also going to try and allow integration of the full-energy network. They have the overall goal to try and bring together aviation, rail and even automotive and they are also going to be looking at a way to try and transport fuel by electricity too. If you work in technical jobs or even engineering jobs then you will know this more than anyone.

The project includes organisations such as Aston Martin, Transport for London and even the National Grid. The network are going to try and treat the low carbon road and they are also going to be looking into air transportation and rail transport too. The power network is a full and unique system and all of the carbon infrastructure is going to try and take electricity from the grid directly. They are interested to see how the Grid is going to cope with the ambition of this and there is also no telling how the transport system is going to be impacted either. The project are going to consider a huge range of new technology and they are also going to be looking into their own wireless charging systems too. This is going to help the environment and it is also going to give people the encouragement they need to try and make a change too. Of course, if you want to find out more about this then make sure that you come and check this space.

A new method has been released for testing and validating automobile technology. Those who work in technical jobs or even in engineering jobs will know more than anyone how much this could benefit the economy. The technique has been developed through the Bosch-led movement, known as Move_UK. This has been going on for well over three years now and the entire project has been funded by the government too. They also involve Jaguars and Land Rovers.

It should be noted that the trials have now completed their final phase. Land Rover vehicles have completed well over 8500 hours of driving around the streets of Greenwich and they have also been gathering data on how humans operate their vehicles. This is being combined with an autonomous system and everyone is doing whatever they can to try and make this everything that it can be.

The best thing about this movement is that the data is harvested in such a way that it is way more manageable. It should also be noted that it can be gathered by using conventional techniques too. The method that is being used right now is mainly Wi-Fi based but it can also be connected up to a cloud-based system too.

Simon Morley is the project manager and he has stated that the approach is up to 3000 times less data intensive when compared to some of the other techniques that have been used in the past. It also requires way less manpower, and this is especially important if they want to be rolling it out on a much higher level. Of course, more needs to be done in order to make sure that things like this keep on being rolled out in the future but right now it is a fantastic start.

Engineers who work at the University of Texas have worked hard to try and develop a flexible tattoo that is able to measure two different types of activity. The graphene-based release is the latest incarnation and it is incredibly flexible too. Participants are wearing cardio electronics and when you look at what some of the researchers have to say, you will soon see that it is the first of its kind. This is especially the case if you work in technical jobs or even in engineering jobs. Sure, a lot of people are going to be familiar with a huge range of ECG technology but it should be noted that SCG is far less pervasive. It works by measuring the amount of vibrations that are in the chest and it also acts as part of a validation for ECG data. This happens when two readings are combined.

It's possible to get a much greater insight into the health of the heart and it is also possible to combine this with a huge range of other data. Sure, soft tattoos for ECG use are not new to say the least. Sensors are now produced using rigid materials and this makes them somewhat bulky and uncomfortable. The device also uses 3D imagery and this helps to map the vibrations that are coming from the chest too. The researchers have also claimed that the tattoo is lightweight and that it can be stretched too. This means that it can be placed over the chest and it causes no discomfort at all, and it also really benefits the patient. This is most certainly a step in the right direction and it just goes to show how far science has come over the years. Only time will tell what new advancements are in the pipeline.
