- Description
- How exciting does the opportunity to be involved in the design and building of a major new Fill Finish Program with a capital cost over 5 billion. The project is currently in the later stages of Basis of Design and will be transitioning to Detailed Design Phase in the coming weeks and Month. Our client is a global presence and are currently in the process of Fill Finish facilities being designed and built (USA, China, France and a fourth location to be confirmed).
The Candidate will join a current IT/OT/Automation Team who are working with a much larger client Team to deliver the digital and automation strategy for the facilities.
The facility is heavily packaged using OEM Packages (PLC / SCADA based using Siemens PLC’s and HMI’s, Win CC Unified).
The packages shall be interfaced into the Client network for Domain Control, historian, Version control, MES etc.
Responsibilities include:
- - Liaise with Clients and Package Vendors (remotely and visit vendor facilities) to develop and deliver the automation hardware and Software functionality.
- - Review vendor submittals such as Hardware Design Specifications HDS and Functional Design Specifications FDS.
- - Input, review and attend FAT’s as required.
- - Support the Site integration scope for SAT’s, IQ, OQ as required as part of the Global Central Team supporting local teams and system integrators at each location.
Experience:
- - Must have good knowledge of Databases, Networks, Firewalls, and Windows-based server and desktop systems.
- - Must have strong knowledge of PLC systems and communications to PLC, SCADA and Historian systems.
- - Pharmaceutical automation knowledge, equipment integration and Computer Systems Validation CSV experience is a bonus.
- - Experience with various integration and communications topologies as mentioned above.
- - Database, communications configuration, OPC, SQL understanding and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- - B.Eng in Computer Science /Mechatronics or appropriate science/engineering discipline.
- - Post Qualification recent relevant experience in an engineering/projects role in the Pharma/Biotech/Chemical industry.
- - Review / understanding execution of Package integration requirements, FAT, SAT, IO/OQ/PQ
- - Automation development (as part of technical transfer), troubleshooting and optimisation.

- - Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities is required.
- - Ability to document own work clearly and precisely.
- - Monitor activity progress for the integration of packaged equipment, deliverables and timelines and report potential delays including mitigation recommendations.
- - Provide reports on a regular basis for effective communication.
- - Being part of automation team planning and deployment including collaboration with supporting departments such as Production/Operations, Quality, etc.
- - Package Equipment Vendor management.
- - Scope change management.
- - Co-ordinating changes using the Client approved change control procedure to ensure that cGMP is adhered to.
- - Good communication and technical writing skills are a must.
