Retained recruitment is a solution where an employer retains the services of a specific recruitment company for a particular requirement, assignment or search.
By retaining the recruitment company, the employer receives dedicated resources to ensure that their critical vacancy is filled within the agreed time frames. The recruitment company is guaranteed exclusivity on the specific requirement, resulting in both parties having a high level of commitment to each other, generating a higher level of quality results.
A retained assignment fee is no more expensive than a contingent recruitment search, however it is structured in different way. In order to enable the recruitment company to commit to the employer in filling their requirement, and therefore dedicate more resources, time and effort, an element of the total fee is paid upfront to start the search, and the rest of the fee is paid once milestones have been achieved and the assignment has been successfully completed.
