The driving industry has really taken a hit lately and it would seem that more needs to be done to try and ensure that enough support is given. The problem is that right now there is a problem with drivers who already work in the industry, being stuck. The Ashford Truckstop have risen to this challenge and they have called on all of their colleagues and the rest of the group to see if they can feed 1,000 drivers who are currently stuck. They are not able to leave the area and this is causing them tons of problems to say the least.

They have contacted the Kent County Council and they have given them an offer. They are asking them to give food products as part of their support to those who might be stranded, and they are also requesting grab bags of food as well. They wanted them to be delivered by 11am on the 23rd of December but this was soon increased to 1,000 bags so that people could then get the help they needed at the time. Of course, in order to meet the very tight deadline that they had, they had to mobilise their staff at the Hythe Imperial Hotel near Dover. Staff were taken off furlough to try and rise to the challenge and it looks like this has really helped people to meet the deadline that they had so that the drivers would not go hungry and end up without food.
