The CIPD is now calling on those who work in the people profession to respond to the open consultation. In recent years, it would appear that there has been a huge increase in the diversity and even the inclusion in the public policy. The Government have pushed the Race Disparity Audit. They are trying to do everything they can to reduce the gender pay gap and they are also developing an approach to mandatory ethnicity pay too. When you look at the measuring levels of diversity you will soon see that this is the first step towards creating a much more inclusive workplace. Of course, if you work in labour jobs or even in labour recruitment, you will soon find that this is a male-dominated industry and that movements like this are going to try and change this.
Flexible Working
One valuable tool that is going to improve the equality in the workplace is, believe it or not, flexible working. It's designed to help parents to return back to work and it is going to help them with their responsibilities too. So what is flexible working? It's a working arrangement that helps team members to vary the amount of time that they work or even the location that they work at. This is designed to benefit the individual and even the organisation too. This can cover a huge range of arrangements, including job-sharing, flexitime and even compressed annual hours too. A lot of businesses do offer some form of flexibility, but they don't realise that it actually qualifies as being flexible working. Of course, it's important to know that a lot of people will be able to benefit from this and if more is done to promote it then this is going to be good news for everyone.
