Microsoft are Using Hydrogen Power for the Data Centre Servers

Microsoft have proven that it is more than possible to use hydrogen power for the data centre servers. They have done this for 48 consecutive hours, which is impressive to say the least. The trail has seen a 250kW cell system power a data centre over in Utah and this is part of the company's own efforts to try and make sure that they are entirely carbon negative by the year 2030.

Microsoft have used any electricity that has been generated by their cells and they are also going to try and make sure that they continue to work towards their goals. If you work in a data centre recruitment agency or if you are seeking data centre jobs then you will know how important it is to try and make sure that everything is done to make companies as green as possible. Companies often have green incentives for employees for this very reason, but it's great to see that Microsoft are going the extra mile. Diesel fuel accounts for less than 1% of Microsoft's emissions and its use is in the Azure data centres. This is where their data centres and cloud systems are and it means that they can continue working even in the event of a power outage. The company have stated that diesel generators are able to offer a lot of reliance and this is going to help them to make the other changes they need throughout the company.
